When a car seat meets every legal requirement, that’s where our next phase starts with the Axkid internal overtesting. In this stage, we push our products beyond standard limits to ensure performance in the most extreme and unpredictable conditions.

AUTOMOTIVE TESTING
Safety in real cars
After the Swedish Plus Test, we move beyond standard lab environments and into real vehicles, because true safety can’t be measured in a fixed environment.
Together with car manufacturers, we conduct crash tests in actual cars to see how Axkid seats interact with the vehicle’s own safety systems, such as side airbags and seatbelt pretensioners. This ensures that every Axkid seat works in harmony with the car’s built-in protection, exactly the way car manufacturers test their own vehicles.

DIGITAL CRASH TESTING
Exploring what can’t be seen in the lab
Not every crash scenario can be recreated physically. That’s why we also perform digital crash testing, using advanced simulation models to explore impacts and environments that can’t be replicated in a lab.
By combining results from both real-world and digital testing, we ensure that our seats are designed to protect children in every possible situation, even the ones you’ll hopefully never experience.
Tested beyond and above standards
We don’t stop once a seat passes approval. We test with heavier test dummies than any regulation requires.
In standard testing, a Q6 dummy that represents a 6-year-old child weighing 23 kg is used. For the Minikid™, we added a weighted vest, bringing the dummy up to 36 kg and the seat still passed every test, with the same strict limits.
But we didn’t stop there. We also tested the seat with a Q10 dummy, representing a 10-year-old child weighing 36 kg. The increased back length and weight makes sure that children up to 125cm can stay rear-faced for longer, no matter what growth curve they follow.
