How to install Axkid Minikid 3

An easy and secure installation with the seat belt – can that be true? YES IT CAN! With Axkid Minikid 3 tricky and difficult seatbelt installations are nothing but a sweet memory. Let us guide you through the 6 simple installation steps of Axkid Minikid 3.

Please note that we at Axkid always recommend that you read and follow the included car seat manual when installing your Axkid Minikid 3. This guide below should only be seen as complementary information and not a replacement for the car seats manual.

Alright, so let’s get started!

Almost – before heading in to step 1 – make sure your car seat has either pre-installed lower tether anchorages or that you have installed the included lower tether anchorage straps correctly according to the car seats manual.

NOW – let’s get started

Step 1

Step 1 – Easy. Find the number 1 on the Zipper and open belt clamp lid.

Step 2

It is time to choose the position and the recline of the Axkid Minikid 3. The recline is adjusted by pressing the recline adjustment lever and choose a suitable recline for your car and for your child.

Then adjust the legroom for your child by simply moving the car seat back and forth on the vehicles seat until you have found the desired position. Make sure the yellow vertical line does not cross the edge on the vehicle seat.

Tip: A reclined position is more comfortable for your child but a more upright one is safer. And remember, when later (in step 4) tensioning the lower tethers, the car seat will be slightly more reclined as it sinks into the vehicles seat cushion.

Moving on to fasten the car seat. Open the belt clamp and thread the vehicle seat belt through the seat belt slots on each side, starting with the one closest to you, and buckle it up.

Now, let’s stabilise the installation and reduce all slack by pulling hard on the shoulder part of the vehicle seat belt and at the same time press down the car seat. You will feel how the car seat is becoming firmly fastened – then – close the belt clamp and lock the vehicle seat belt, both shoulder and lap belt, in position.

Step 4

Halfway there and it is time for the unique automatic lower tethers to do their magic. Pull out the lower tethers, one at a time and connect them to the lower tether anchorages, one to each side.

After that, press down on the top of the car seat and wiggle it from side to side and the lower tethers will automatically be tensioned. Keep pushing until the car seat is firmly fastened and then make sure the white marking on the lower tether belt is visible.

Tip: If the white marking is not visible, check the car seat manual for support

Step 5

Press the support leg release button and pull on the lower part of the support leg until it is in contact with the vehicle floor. Let go of the support leg release button and lift the car seat upwards to further extend the support leg until you her a click and the support leg is firmly pressed against the floor.

Please note: Make sure the support leg is angled more than 10 degrees towards the front of the vehicle.

Step 6:

And just like that you hit the final step – step 6.
Time to add the ASIP on the side of the Axkid Minikid 3 that is closest to the vehicle’s door. Simply push the ASIP pad into the slots on the ASIP connector and slide downwards and the ASIP will click into place.
