We are very proud to introduce our first swivel car seat with ISOFIX! The 180° rotating function makes rear-facing more convenient than ever before. You can easily, with just one hand, rotate the car seat towards you for easy access of your child when going in or out of the car seat. Axkid Spinkid is also easy to install correctly in 30sec, and the installation process is shown with five simple steps on the car seat. You never have to worry about forgetting the next step – it’s always there for your support.

Axkid Spinkid is an adaptable car seat

We know that every child grows differently and at different paces, which is why Axkid Spinkid is an adaptable car seat to fit every child. Here are two extremely useful features for the adaptability of Axkid Spinkid:

• 12 headrest positions: It’s easy to adapt the headrest to your child´s length and size, as it can be placed in 12 different steps. While your child is growing, you can simply adjust the headrest with a one-hand move.
• Advanced sleep well system: You can easily adjust the angle of the car seat after the installation. This is especially a helpful feature for smaller children, but do try not to over recline, as an upright position is safer.

Swivel car seat’s position in the car seat journey

The car seat journey normally looks like following:

(Baby carrier) → swivel car seat → rear-facing car seat → forward-facing booster seat

A swivel car seat is generally seen as the step between the baby carrier and rear-facing car seat. But as Axkid Spinkid is approved from 40cm to 105cm, it can be used directly from newborn instead of the infant carrier. Furthermore, a baby support cushion is included in Axkid Spinkid to make car trips safe and comfortable for the smallest child. This leaves you as a parent with more choices to fit your family’s needs.

Axkid always recommend rear-facing for as long as possible as it is safer, and with the latest innovations it is fully possible to travel rear-faced up to 125cm. After the period of a swivel car seat, the next step is a rear-facing car seat before entering the forward-facing period. What is a rotating car seat? 

A rotating car seat is a child car seat that can rotate. Axkid Spinkid is a rear-facing swivel car seat that is rotatable 180°.

How safe are swivel car seats? 

Our swivel car seat is approved according to the latest R-129 regulation, making it safe for your child. Furthermore, a premium harness- and safety system from the Swedish technology provider Holmbergs® is provided on Axkid Spinkid. At Axkid we always hold high internal safety standards on all our products, and we will aim to Plus test the new Axkid Spinkid.  However, the crash lab performing the Swedish Plus test, is right now updating their approval process and technical equipment, meaning that no car seats can be Plus tested at the moment. Still, Axkid Spinkid is a safe rear-facing swivel car seat that has already passed rigorous tests.

At what age can I use a rotating car seat? 

The newest regulation gives approval after length, and not by age. However, Axkid’s rotating car seat can be used from 40cm up to 105cm or 18kg. Although every child is unique, we would say that Axkid Spinkid can be used from an early age, in most cases already from newborn. As with the maximum limits, it will in most cases be up to 3-4 years of age.
