Yes, you can. Make sure that when you install the car seat it does not touch the seat in front of it. Once you have finished installing it, you can push back the seat in front and let it touch your car seat. Also make sure that you use the support leg correctly when installing the seat. Be very careful if you have an electrically powered car seat in front since the motors is very strong and can damage the Axkid seat.

Yes, you can install the car seat in the front seat of your car. However, it is important to check the support leg and make sure that it is at an angle over 10° from the back of the seat. You can check this by ensuring that the support leg is further away from the seat than the vertical line. And don’t forget to always ensure that the airbag is turned off, this is very important!

A rear-facing car seat should never be installed with an active airbag in the front seat. Today, most car manufacturers offer some form of safe disconnection of the airbag and if it has been actioned, the passenger front seat works fine for the rear-facing car seat. Regarding a forward-facing car seat in the passenger front seat, the basic rule is that the airbag must be deactivated if the child is under 140cm. However, today there are newer cars that have airbags where everyone who is travelling forward-facing, regardless of height, can sit even though the airbag is active. It is therefore important to read the car’s instruction manual or check with your car manufacturer as to what applies to your car. 

Please note, side airbags do not pose a danger to children whether they are riding in a rear-facing or forward-facing car seat.

Yes, they are compatible, unless any of the products are older than 8 years. If that is the case, we recommend that you recycle the seat and/or the base.

Yes, the tether straps must always be used when installing it with ISOFIX.

All our car seats have tilt functions in the front. Try to use these first to get a better angle on the car seat, see the user manual for detailed information. If you need to tilt the car seat even more, we recommend our accessory “angle adjusting wedge“.

Since 2006, most new cars have been equipped with ISOFIX, making it a common feature for safer and simpler car seat installation. Furthermore, from 2014, it has been mandated by European law that all new four-seater cars are equipped with at least two ISOFIX attachment points, with the exception of two-seater vehicles. This standardization helps ensure that ISOFIX-compatible car seats can be easily installed in these vehicles. It is also good to remember that different spots in the car may be compatible for different types of car seats. The same car can, for example, be compatible with both ISOFIX and seat belt attached car seats in different spots in the car. This means if you have several children, you can advantageously utilise seat belt attached car seats and ISOFIX car seats.

We at Axkid recommend as small an inclination of the car seat as possible, provided that the child can sit upright by itself without the head falling forward. All children are different and the inclination of the car seat must always be adapted to the child’s needs. The recommended angle for small children is about 30-35 degrees. A suitable angle for older children is between 15-25 degrees. Yes, it is completely safe to use our side impact protection even if it touches the car door, provided that the door can still easily be closed without using excessive force.

When you purchase your Axkid car seat, additional tether straps are always included to enable installation in all cars, with or without attachment loops. For Axkid Move however, there is an exception since the tether straps on the seat are different and can be attached to any car directly without the use of additional tether straps. Yes, when using the car seat rear-facing, you must always install the seat with the support leg. That’s how our car seats are tested and approved. Before installing the support leg you need to make sure that there is no storage compartment underneath the car floor. If this is the case, the lid needs to be removed and the support leg installed in that space and not on top of the storage compartment. Most car manufactures offer a storage compartment filler that also be used but please consult with your car manufacture or dealer.

When you install the car seat you need to ensure that the heel of the car seat is over the front of the seat that it is installed in. Do not be afraid to really push it in to the seat. The tighter the better!

As you can see in below video you need to push down the car seat after you have fasten the tether straps to the attachment loops or in the lower anchor straps. After that you need to pull out the support leg and after you have installed the support leg you should push down the car seat again.

When buying a car seat, one practical matter you should know is the two different installation options: ISOFIX and seat belt attachment.

ISOFIX is a connection system for car seats that is internationally standardised and is in general an easier way of installing car seats.
Seat belt attachment means the installation is using the car’s own three-point seat belt for installation.

From a safety point of view, it makes no difference if your child’s car seat is installed with ISOFIX or by seat belt attachment. However, an ISOFIX installation is generally simpler and reduces the risk of human installation errors.
