Changing from a rear-facing car seat to a forward-facing booster seat
At Axkid we recommend changing from a rear-facing car seat to a forward-facing booster seat later than the regulations state. It is difficult to say exactly when your child will change from a rear-facing to a forward-facing car seat. Up to about 6-7 years of age, children can sit backwards, but it is mainly the length that determines when it is time for the child to ride forwards. We prefer that the switch to forward-facing travel takes place after the child has passed 49 inches. When your child has grown out of a rear-facing car seat, but has not yet reached the optimal length for the car’s three-point seat belt, it is time to change to a forward-facing booster seat.
It is the position of the seat belt that determines whether your child should have a booster seat or booster cushion. If the belt ends up too far out on the child’s shoulder or over the child’s stomach in a booster cushion, it is best to wait with it and choose a booster seat instead. The booster seat is equipped with a so-called belt adjuster that ensures that the seat belt is in the correct position. Axkid offers safe and flexible high back booster seats with rigid latch brackets and belt mounting. All of our booster seats fit all car seats that are equipped with a three-point belt.
