Uniting engineering and technology with a big heart
Ever since the start of Axkid we have taken active decisions to make sure our seats are not only safe in a laboratory, an Axkid seat must also work in the everyday life of an ordinary family. Thats why we already from our very first seat has gone to great lengths in order to build car seats that combines safety, comfort and easy of use.
All our research and development is rooted in a “safety-concept idea” that we first test with real consumers. Based on their feedback we make hundreds of simulations in computers and with help of AI analyze and develop into a physical prototype.
Based in the Swedish safety tradition, we are also firm believers that rear-facing is the safest way to travel. Scientific research has time after time proven this. That is why we build seats that can be used rear-facing for as long as possible.

The production of an Axkid car seat starts with input from families. Their valuable feedback drives our research and development, allowing us to refine our designs through thousands of simulations and various tests. We proudly uphold our Swedish safety traditions and firmly believe that rear-facing car seats are the safest way for children to travel up to seven years of age. Supported by scientific research, this belief shapes our design philosophy, ensuring that children can use our rear-facing seats for as many years as possible.

Year 1
Research and pre-studies
We test our ideas and concepts on real users with low-tech prototypes to validate if we can reach our set safety goal and concept
Year 2
Design and digital prototypes
We start the product design and build digital prototypes that we can test in our computers. We also leverage AI to help us analyse data.
Year 3
Prototyping
We test physical prototypes in real crash labs, working with a number of accredited safety labs – ADAC in Germany and VTI in Sweden.
Year 4
Certification and production
We make sure the new seat is certified and ensuring it can be produced to the highest standards. Finally we test the seat in the major consumer tests like the Plus Test and ADAC test.
