Questions

Most booster seats follow a one-size-fits-all approach with a static design, even though kids grow a lot between ages 4 and 12. Axkid Up is different. Thanks to its unique pantented HeightControl™ system and 15 levels of height adjustments, it adjusts to your child’s size so they sit at the right height to fully benefit from the car’s built-in safety features—just like an adult. While other boosters stay the same, Axkid Up grows with your child, from 100 cm to 150 cm, for better safety and comfort.

Axkid Up is approved to use in 3 different installation modes:

  1. Using the vehicle seat belt + ISOFIX + Support leg
  2. Using the vehicle seat belt + ISOFIX
  3. Using the vehicle seat belt only

Axkid Up™ makes installation effortless and foolproof in just 30 seconds. You can choose to install it with ISOFIX and support leg for a quick and stable setup or with the seatbelt only if your vehicle doesn’t have ISOFIX. When installed with ISOFIX and support leg – which we primarily recommend to use, the support leg enhances stability for improved crash protection. Axkid Up™ can be easily folded away when not in use and installed anywhere in your car with this flexible setup.

For further installation instructions, please read the product manual.

For best safety, we recommend to use Axkid Up with ISOFIX and support leg whenever possible. If there is no ISOFIX on the seating position you wish to use the Axkid Up, you can use it with the vehicle seat belt only.

If your car has ISOFIX, we recommend to install Axkid Up with ISOFIX and support leg. If you use the support leg, it must always be installed in combination with ISOFIX.

Yes, you can. But for best safety, we recommend to use both ISOFIX and support leg whenever possible.

No. When using Axkid Up with the support leg it must always be installed in combination with the ISOFIX.

Axkid Up is approved within the i-Size dimensions, which applies to most booster seats. With the support leg the Axkid Up is a bit “taller” than other booster seats, but also narrower than many other seats.

Yes. However, there are different recommendations in different markets and among various car manufacturers.
In most markets, if the child is under 135 cm and seated in the front seat, the airbag must be deactivated.

Yes, in all cars that have three-point seat belt.

Yes! The support leg is positioned between the child’s legs which is a natural position for the child to sit. By adding a footrest, the comfort is further improved, as the child doesn’t have to let their legs dangle, which can cause them to fall asleep or go numb.

A fourth point involves a re-routing of the seatbelt and risks creating slack. Additionally, there is a risk of serious injury to the child’s pelvis in the event of a crash when using a fourth belt point.

Chest pads create friction in the seatbelt and can lead to slack, which reduces the level of protection for the child in the event of a crash. Chest pads do not add any real safety but increase the risk of misuse, which is why we do not recommend using them as they pose a safety risk.

Axkid Up’s side wings are there to support the child’s position and to ensure that the belt position is correct. When the child’s height is 126 cm and above, the side wings can easily be removed to create more space. The headrest will continue to keep the child’s head in place.

Depending on car manufacturer and if you install it correctly.

No, because we want as little space as possible between the car seat and the forward-facing car seat.

No.

Axkid Up is also crash tested and approved for older cars that do not have the same built-in safety systems, such as airbags, as modern cars have. Thanks to Up’s HeightControl™ feature, that positions the child at the correct height for precise belt alignment and optimised belt routing, the child can fully benefit from the car’s most important safety system – the seat belt. For even better protection, keep the removable side wings (SnapGuard™) and ASIP on.

Axkid Up is approved for children from 100 cm and 4 years old. However, we do recommend rear-facing for as long as possible, preferably until the child is 125 cm and 7 years.

Axkid Up is tested and approved for children from 100 cm because of regulatory standards. With its HeightControl™ feature, it positions the child at the correct height in the car, regardless of whether the child is 100 or 150 cm tall, ensuring they benefit fully from the car’s built-in safety systems.

However, we will always recommend rear-facing for as long as possible since that is the safest choice for children up to 125 cm.
