Why Consider a Rear-Facing Car Seat?
At Axkid, we take child safety in traffic very seriously and we recommend rear facing travel for as long as possible.
Our rear-facing car seats are plus tested and approved according to the R-129 (i-Size) regulations. A rear-facing car seat provides better protection for your child than a forward-facing car seat and reduces the risk of injury in the event of a collision.
Axkid strive for children even at older ages to continue to travel rear-facing. In our rear-facing car seats, not only do children aged 1, 2, 3 and 4 years have room to ride, we have ensured that children aged 5, 6 and 7 years also have room to sit safely and comfortably – all the way until it’s time to switch to a forward-facing booster seat and finally a booster cushion.
It is mainly the length that determines when it is time for the child to change from the rear-facing car seat to a forward-facing one. Up to about 6-7 years of age, or 125 cm, children can travel rear facing. Therefore, make sure to acquire a rear-facing car seat that your child has the opportunity to grow in, for your child’s safety. Our car seats are fitted with either ISOFIX or the car’s three-point belt.
The Superiority of Rear-Facing Car Seats
Studies clearly show that rear-facing car seats are significantly safer than forward-facing alternatives. Small children who travel forward facing face a five times higher risk of dying or being seriously injured in a collision or heavy braking, compared with children in rear-facing car seats. All of our car seats have undergone the Swedish plus test. A plus tested car seat guarantees that your child is not exposed to life-threatening high neck forces in a frontal collision. Sweden are a world leader when it comes to child safety in cars and it is therefore not surprising that the plus test is a Swedish approval. See our car seats that won “best in test” here.
