Axkid Zero™ is one of the lightest infant car seats on the market, weighing between 2.5 and 2.7 kg depending on configuration. This is significantly lighter than the market average of around 5 kg.

At birth, a baby’s neck muscles are not yet strong enough to support the weight of the head. This makes early positioning especially important. Axkid Zero™ supports the natural posture of newborns, helping to minimise neck load and reduce forces before they occur. When travelling rear-facing, this support can reduce neck forces by up to 70% compared to forward-facing travel.

Newborns are born with a naturally curved, C-shaped spine. This shape is part of early development and should be supported through correct positioning. Axkid Zero™ is designed to maintain a stable and well-aligned posture in the seat, helping distribute forces evenly and reduce the risk of unnecessary spinal compression in the event of a collision.

Ultra Light™
At just 2.5–2.7 kg, depending on configuration, Axkid Zero™ is significantly lighter than most infant car seats (typically 4–5 kg). This makes everyday life easier when lifting, carrying, and moving between home and car. The lightweight structure is achieved using EPP material, which also contributes to high energy absorption in a collision.
ForceNode™ shell
Axkid Zero™ is built with an internal steel reinforcement structure that strengthens the shell and improves crash energy management. This creates a more rigid and protective seat structure designed to withstand high-impact forces.
Optima Insert™ system
The Optima inserts are designed to adapt the seat to different newborn sizes, including very small babies born up to 10 weeks early. They help ensure correct positioning from day one, supporting stable head alignment, proper harness fit, and open airways.
Adaptive Headrest™ for correct harness position

Built for the unready
Newborns vary more than we often realise. Some are smaller, lighter, or born earlier than expected, with differences in muscle tone, airway size, and proportions. While most infant car seats are designed around an average newborn, Axkid Zero™ is developed to support a wider range of early needs. Its positioning has been optimised using additional smaller test dummies, including representations of babies born up to 10 weeks early.
The modular inlays support babies from 1.8 kg and adapt as they grow, helping to ensure correct head alignment, stable harness positioning, and open airways from the very beginning. Because what works for the smallest one works for every child.
Lightweight by design
Infant car seats typically weigh between 4–5 kg. Axkid Zero™ weighs just between 2.5 and 2.7 kg depending on configuration. This makes a noticeable difference when:
• lifting in and out of the car
• carrying between home and vehicle
• travelling short distances
• recovering after a caesarean birth
The lightweight construction is made possible by EPP material, which also contributes to energy absorption in the event of a collision.
Safe installation, with or without base
Axkid Zero™ allows flexible installation options to suit your needs. The infant seat can be installed with ISOFIX base (sold separately) or with vehicle seatbelt. Its flat base design allows strong contact with the vehicle seat, helping provide installation even with ISOFIX. This supports safe use different seating positions in the car.
