Safe headrest position
Comfort can mean different things to different people. One aspect of comfort for you as a parent is knowing that your child sits safely in the car seat. Axkid have added some important features to our car seats to ensure you as a parent are comfortable that the headrest is always in a safe position.
The harness is the starting point
In a rear-facing car seat, it is common that the internal harness and the headrest are integrated with each other. This means that the headrest will lower down as the harness is tightened. This is how you correctly tighten the harness:
1. Tighten the belt over the hips.
2. Tighten the belt over the child’s body. It’s tight enough when you can’t “pinch” the belt.
3. Make sure that the harness goes straight over the shoulders of your child and not pointing upwards nor downwards.
When the harness is tightened correctly, the headrest will be in a safe position if your car seat benefits from an integrated harness and headrest. However, it can be difficult knowing exactly from which height the harness should come out from the seat. Therefore, we at Axkid have developed some important features, to make it easy for you as a parent to know at which height the headrest should be and thus also the harness height since they are integrated.

Feature #1 – Dynamic headrest technology
The Dynamic headrest technology featured on the Minikid-family ensures a correct headrest position, given that the harness is tightened sufficiently. When you tighten the harness, the headrest will “follow” until you stop pulling. So, when the seatbelt is tight enough, you can be rest assured knowing that the headrest is in a safe position.
Tips, to be sure whether the harness is tightened enough or not, you can do the “pinch test”. If you can pinch the harness, it is not tight enough.
Feature #2 – Eye indicator
On the headrest of the Axkid ONE car seats you can see a stripe on each side. Those stripes are an indicator of where the eyes of the child should be in relation to the headrest. Of course, every child has different proportions so it’s not necessary to strictly follow the stripes; they are more of a guideline.

The reason behind features like these, is to facilitate the installation process for you as a parent as much as possible. The feeling of knowing that your child sits safely in the car seat is underestimated. When purchasing a new car seat, please do not forget the importance of you as a parent feeling comfortable with managing the car seat.
