We recommend the use of our car seats during the course of 8 years, from when it is installed in your car. For example, it can be in store for 2 years and then used for 8 years. The baby car seat has a life span of 6-7 years in use. The reason as to why we have set this time limit is because the plastic parts are more sensitive to differences in temperatures when installed in the car, but also because we at Axkid are continuously working with the development of our products.

A rear-facing car seat with belt attachment can be used until the child weighs about 25 kilos. The seat is outgrown when the child’s head is sticking up by a third over the edge, roughly on eye-level of the child, or when the car seat’s recommended weight limit has been passed.
When the child has outgrown the car seat replace it with a booster seat and eventually a booster cushion. Both physicians and researchers recommend that children should use a booster seat or booster cushion until they are approximately 10-12 years old.

This information can be found underneath the car seat, there are two clocks stamped into the plastic, which show which year and month the car seat was produced.

Important: Never install a rear-facing car seat in front of an active airbag.

A child’s head is large and heavy in relation to the rest of the body, while the neck is still developing. In a frontal collision, a rear-facing car seat supports the child’s head, neck and back and distributes the forces over a larger area of the body.

This is why we recommend keeping children rear-facing for as long as possible.

We recommend that children travel rear-facing for as long as possible.

When it is time to move on depends on the limits of the specific car seat. Always follow the maximum height and weight limits stated for your seat, as well as the instructions in the manual.

Because children grow differently, there is no single age that applies to everyone. What matters is that the child still fits within the approved limits of the car seat.
