Here at Axkid, our commitment to your child’s safety is unparalleled. Therefore, we are excited to introduce the revolutionary Axkid Minikid 4—a car seat that allows true extended rear-facing up to 7 years of age. Let us guide you through the advanced safety features and internal safety testing standards that will make Axkid Minikid 4 your top choice for child safety on the road.

Extended Rear-Facing Safety: Beyond the Average Growth Curve

At Axkid, our dedication to rear-facing safety is rooted in the undeniable fact that a rear-facing car seat is up to five times safer compared to forward-facing. This is why we’ve designed the Axkid Minikid 4 to exceed expectations, allowing your child to remain in the safer rear-facing position until they reach a height of 125cm and a weight of 36kg.

To better understand the significance of these limits, we analysed typical child growth curves and found that the average 7-year-old boy stands at 125cm and weighs about 23kg. However, not every child is average and there are many children at 7 years of age who weigh more than 23 kg. Therefore, we raised the bar and designed the Minikid 4 to accommodate children weighing up to 36kg to ensure that as many families as possible can benefit from extended rear-facing safety for as long as possible.

Regulatory Approval and Weight Limits: What You Need to Know
While the homologation process provides essential requirements for car seat safety, at Axkid, we believe in going beyond that to offer exceptional rear-facing safety for all children no matter of growth curve. Though regulations allow for certain flexibility in weight limits, when it comes to seat belt attached car seats, we’ve taken the initiative to conduct rigorous testing up to 36kg, ensuring that the Axkid Minikid 4 offers unmatched safety for every child.

Let us tell you how we can confirm rear-facing safety up to 36kg in the Axkid Minikid 4.

Meeting and Exceeding Safety Standards:

Meeting the regulatory safety standards was just the starting point for the Axkid Minikid 4. We go above and beyond by engaging in both voluntary third-party testing and our own stringent internal tests to ensure the highest level of safety for your child. Here’s a quick rundown of the specialiced, rigorous tests our Minikid 4 has aced.

  • The Swedish Plus Test: The Ultimate Safety Confirmation

The Plus Test is among the toughest crash tests in the world. It has stricter criteria for impact violence and neck forces, making it incredibly challenging for a car seat to pass. We are proud to announce that the Axkid Minikid 4 has successfully passed the Swedish Plus Test, ensuring that your child is protected from life-threatening neck forces in the event of a frontal collision.

  • Crash Test with Q6 and Weighted Vest

For standard homologation testing, a Q6 dummy, representing an average 6-year-old child weighing 23kg, is typically used. We decided to extend our safety measures by adding a weighted vest to the dummy, increasing its weight to 36kg, and conducting additional impact tests.

  • Crash Test with Q10

The performance and safety of the car seat is also verified with a so called Q10 dummy. This dummy represents in size an average 10-year-old child and weighs 36kg. The increased back length and weight means the Q10 dummy covers children up to 125 cm, no matter what growth curve they follow. Using the Q10 dummy in impact tests and making sure the results from the dummy are within limits confirms that children up to 125 cm can, without doubt, stay rear faced for longer in the Axkid Minikid 4.

Our commitment to transparency aims to give you unparalleled peace of mind. We hope these insights helps you make the most informed decision for your child’s safety on the road.
